Happy New Year Everyone & Happy Hellos!!!

I've missed all of you much. It's been a couple of weeks since my last post. I was a little disappointed I wasn't able to carryout The Peddler's Gallery Parade of Paper Creations until the 31st of December. However, so many things were taking place as the month progressed. My last post was the day before my son's 13th birthday. It's hard to believe thirteen years have gone by. It's almost harder to believe I have a teenage son. Every time I think about it, I smile. This September he'll enter high school, but I'll tailor that conversation for another posting. I wanted to start this year off by sharing the New Year's card I sent to everyone. That's right, my New Year's card. My Christmas cards turned into my New Year's cards when I found myself running out of holiday time. I know there are a few folks that follow my blog who haven't received their card. So, I'll wait until the first of next week to share it with you.

In the meantime, I decided to share and altered box I made for no one in particular, but I'm hopeful it will find a good home soon. Actually, I've made a few that I plan to share with you over the next few weeks. Take a look and share your thoughts with me.

I love this paper by My Minds Eye.

I decided to expose the original cigar tape. For some reason I like

the idea of others knowing the origins of this box.

I also love how Tim Holtz's foundations can dresss up a project.

I attached the ribbon that came with this box to prevent the lid

of the box from falling completely back when opened.

Of course, this is a photo of what the box looks like from underneath.

It's good to know you made it over your hump day with all that shopping and wrapping of presents you have had to do. For me, today is much like the past few days--that is, lots to do and a limited time to complete the mission. I have a couple of things to check off my list between now and Saturday. I'm not sure whether I'll accomplish them all, but I'm trying my best to. So, lets jump right into The Peddler's Gallery Parade of Paper Creations. Today's creation centers around another holiday inspired handbag.

Happy Hellos Everyone!!!

I hope your work week kicked-off to a fantastic start. Each passing day is a gentle reminder that the holidays are upon us and the new year is just around the bend. Not only that, in approximately four days, I will be the mother of a teenager. Not only is that hard to believe, it brings a comforting smile to my face. So much happens during the month of December in my little world--as I'm sure it does in yours.

One Week & Counting

Happy Hellos Everyone:

Can you believe it? We're one week away from Christmas Day and I am only half way through making my Christmas cards. Now, as I mentioned previously, I normally send approximately 80 cards. I have about that many on hand. The only problem is, I do not have 80 of the same card. In between making holiday cards and invitations for other people, my cards have been put aside. So, it's official my Christmas cards have become my new year's cards. With that being said, I am no longer behind. I just need to get them in the mail by Christmas Eve.

Now, on with today's Parade of Paper Creations... Today's card puts me in mind not so much of an old Christmas, but a familar Christmas. The colors are traditional; however, the red and green are acccompanied with brown. For whatever reason, I think it works out rather well.

I just love both sentiments. They're from PennyBlack.

T'is the Gift Giving Season....

I hope all is well with you and yours. Today is the third day of Christmas. What have you recieved from your true love today? I'm not sure about you, but I'm still waiting on the first day's gift.

Today's creation has less of a Christmas theme. Well in actuality, there is no Christmas theme to this paper creation. However, I am planning to give this as a Christmas gift. I was totally shocked when I discovered a close family member showed interest in this altered box. I was visiting one of my favorite LSS. I discovered they had the entire collection of the Graphic45 Wizard of Oz papers in stock and I just had to have them. I haven't completed the project completely, but take a look at what I came up with thus far.

I just love all the colorful characters.

I accentuated the eyes by using a layer of Glossy Accents.

If you take a closer look, you'll see I have used a little Stickle on Dorothy's shoes.

I also added a red Stickled heart to The Tin Man's chest.

I raised Dorothy, Oz, the flying monkeys, the crow, and Glenda--the Good Witch with dimensionals. The Scarecrow, The Tin Man, The Lion, and the Wicked Witch are flush against the box.

Of course, I had to have purple feet. There's purple DP in this collection. I wasn't sure if this box would be given to a male of female recipient, so I used square feet.

I highlight multiple pairs of the ruby red slippers with red stickles on the insided of the box.

Did you see the other witch's feet peaking out from the corner of the box? Finally, notice the original cigar tape that outlines the box. I like to think this smbolizes the yellow brick road.

Santa's Little Helper

Happy Hellos Everyone:

I hope your holidays are holding lots of wonderful times and you're stacking-up on wonderful memories with your family and friends. I'm curious. Have you started your holiday shopping or are you in the boat I'm in? I haven't started my Christmas shopping; however, it's on my list of things to do.

Now, on with The Peddler's Gallery Parade of Paper Creation. I must admit today's card is totally CAS. I feel in love with this image from the moment I saw it. The image just caused me to smile. Not only that, I'm a a huge fan of Mo Manning.Today's card isn't about the big man. It's all about Santa's little helper. You know, the behind the seen guy. This is the card I would have love to send to everyone on my Christmas card list, but I just could not imagine reduplicating this 80 times. Instead, I created six of these little darling to take to a Christmas event I plan to participate in on this Sunday.

I adorned the image in the traditional red and green. However, of course, I had to adorn the image in my traditional holiday colors--purple and green. I accented Santa's little helper with clear micro beads. I changed the background of the cards to create a different look. I can't wait to show you this same card for another special occasion. Rustic Christmas Wreath

So glad you decided to stop by the gallery today. You're just in time for The Peddler's Gallery Parade of Paper Creations. Today's card has a rustic feel to me. It put in mind of a door I would come across in the south. Take a look.

This was a fun card to create. A woodgrain stamp, a littler Versmark, embossing power, ink, and a little Glossy Accents and I was done. If you haven't done so, checkout the door knobs. I created using 'This & That' dimenisonals. I emboss them, colored them with a Copic marker and sealed it with a thick coat of Glossy Accents.

Special Delivery...From Santa

I hope all is well with you. I know this is a busy time of the year for most people. It's been a little busy in every facets of all my happenings. I think there's something about the month of December when it comes to crafting. I feel as though I have been on a roll of some sort. Inbetween crafting, I have been crafting and doing other things too. I have moments when I just want to show you everything I have made all at once, but not to worry, I'm going to pace myself. With that, The Peddler's Gallery Parade of Paper Creations continues. Today's card is all about the big man himself...of course Santa Claus.

I picked up this stamp from The Queen's Ink in Savage, Maryland in 2009 and used it for the first time last year. I liked it enough to use it again this year only this time instead of coloring the white areas, I used clear microbeads. This provided me with great texture and a different look from the year before.

Today's post is brief. I wanted to share another bag I made using a couple of PTI dice.

There is very little for me to say that I have not already convery about this wonderful die. The numbers I used are a set of die from PTI. They're the perfect size for my creations.

I have to tell you, the hand bag was way too easy to assemble. A little bit of netting, some cheery holiday papers, netting, twine, some ribbon, and the number 25 was all this bag needed. I love for a project to look as thought it took longer to create than it actually did. This isn't my favorite bag; however, it's something about the number twenty-five I convered in clear microbeads that I really like.

I hope you are enjoying what I have displayed. Paper crafting is such a wonderful rewarding past time for me and I enjoy sharing what I have learned with all of you. I am looking forward to sharing the next couple of creations with you.

Can you believe it? December has arrived in style. That is, I didn't think it would be as cool as it actually is. Just a day ago or so, it felt like late spring or early summer. I'm not sure about you, but the flowers are still in bloom where I live. Which is a little unusual.

Before I get into today's featured card for The Peddler's Gallery Parade of Paper Creations, I wanted to mention and encourage you to join me in crafting along with Tim Holtz for his 12 Tags of Christmas which began today. I stumbled upon this last year mid-way through the 12 days after visiting a fellow blogger's blog. See what I get for visiting other peoples' blogs--a new passion. Just what I needed right. If your wondering what I used my tags for, well...I attached them to wine bottles to give as gifts. I suppose I'll do the same this year.

Now, onto today's creation...Today, it's all about the mistletoe and holly. Flouishes is another one of my favorite places to visit and after seeing today's card, you'll understand why. Happy Hump Day Everyone:

Just in case you did not know, there are 26 days until Christmas and day three of The Peddler's Gallery Parade of Paper Creations.

I hope all is well in your part of this world of ours. Can you believe we are into our last day of November? Do you recall I mentioned in my previous post, I received a few goodies in the mail over the Thanksgiving holiday? One of those little goodies was a die from Papertry. I loved this die from the moment I saw it. I tried to talk myself out of it, but it just didn't happen. Well, when I decided to order it, the die was sold out. Some kinda luck, right? You snooze you lose--so the saying goes. Fortunately, it didn't take too long before it was back on the shelves and in my hands. I just love, love, love what this little die does. This is one die I hope to use throughout the year. It's perfect for any occasion. Without further ado, take a look.

Yes, I realize this bag looks very much like the card I posted yesterday, but I told you I really like this DP. Beside, it's an excellent way to show the coordinating card. Well, what do you think? Thinking you may just want to have this die too. Well, if you like this little creation, wait to you see the other bags that will follow. As you can see, I pulled out the wonderful Jovial line from Basic Grey. I added a border base, a little ribbon treatment and a sentiment from WMS and I was done. This is just one of those lines I get the impression you can never fail when using it.

I hope your Tuesday has kicked-off to a terrific start. Thank you for returning to The Peddler's Gallery holiday parade. Yesterday, we began our parade with 'Toasted Snowflakes'--a card made from BoBunny's designer papers, Snowfall. Today's card is all about incorporating the old with the new. Leading up to the Thanksgiving Day holiday and the Friday after, I received a couple of packages. There was one from Papertry and the other was from Waltzing Mouse. Receiving them was as if Christmas had arrived a little sooner than later. I quickly unwrapped all my goodies and just stared at it all for a moment or two. All of a sudden my thoughts were running so wild, I'd forgotten what I had planned on creating. Has that ever happened to you? Well, I eventually calmed myself down and began to focus. I decided to combined some of the old with the new. Take a look.

I used some of my Basic Grey papers I had left over from last year. This was one of two of my favorite holiday lines from last year. When I discovered my LSS had a little left over in January, I purchased a few sheets or two for whenever. I topped off the card with my new stamp from WMS. I just love the holiday sentiment stamp set. It has such an European/English flair to it. I'm not sure you'll recognize it in this card, but I'm certain you will in the projects to follow. I f you look closely you may discover I finished of the anther on the Poinsettia using a high gloss and clear microbeads. From where I stand, it's simply beautiful.

Happy Hellos Everyone:

I hope your Thanksgiving celebration was full of family and friends. I celebrated with family before heading off to the Ravens vs. 49ers game on Thursday night. The game was like the icing on the cake… the cherry on top. It was just oh-so-fab-u-lous!

If you recall in my last post, I mentioned I would begin my holiday parade of my paper creations on Friday and it would continue until the end of December. Well, as you can see that didn’t happen. There was sooooo much going on this weekend that itI couldn’t begin until now. I apologize for the delay.

I have to admit, I am totally inlove with BoBunny’s new winter line. I love the color combination—blue and brown and everything else about it. For some reason this DP reminds me of warm gingerbread, heavy snowfalls and hot coco. Take a look and let me know what you think.

It's been a minute since my last post; however, I must admit it has been one of my most productive minutes. I have been busy preparing for the upcoming holiday events and I cannot wait to share what I have made with you. So, please be sure to return to The Peddler's Gallery at 5:00 A.M. on Black Friday. This is the day I decided to kick-off my parade of holiday inspired paper crafts and the parade will conclude on December 31st.

Pretty-N-Pink

Like the elephant, card makers never forget birthdays. Okay, never is such a strong word. Rarely??? Okay, we try not to forget a birthday. As you may remember, I have the need to build up my birthday stash as I'm sure many of you run into the same situation from time to time--that is running low on birthday cards. I have a cute little card to share with you today. It's the perfect card for that birthday that just got away. It's as if I fell in love all over again. When I first came across this image I loved it--even before I saw a completed image. When I complete my card I fell for it all over again. Go figure.

Well, please take a look...

The image is from Mark's Finest Papers and I stamped to elephants and created a 3-D effect using dimensional separators. The camera didn't capture the elephant in the way I wanted it to. You'll just have to trust me when I say the elephant appears to leap off of the card. The textured paper in the background is actual elephant skin inspired. So, it really works well with this image. To top it all off, I think the pink ribbon is a wonderful touch.

Happy Monday Everyone:

I hope all is well in your world. I'm back after a brief road trip with my mom to Teachey, North Carolina. I'll have to tell you all about Teachey in a future post. It deserves a posting all of it's own. However, I would like to share a card I made for a neighbor. She recently had a friend to pass away and she wanted to send two of the same cards to her adult sons. As you know sympathy cards are probably [card makers]our least favorite cards that we actually make. On top of that I rarely use the term 'With Sympathy.' Instead, I titled the card 'Perhaps...' and used the Native American verse, 'Perhaps they're not just stars in the sky, but holes where our love ones shine down on to let us know they're alright.' There are a couple different version of this. I just love it. It has such a comforting message.

I almost hated the thought of changing it because as I mentioned in the previous post, I simply love what had already been created. I just wanted to case it. So, I changed the colors and the layout and this is what I came up with....

Yes, I totally cased this card. I absolutely loved this card from the moment I saw it for so many reasons. I found it to be unique. I could use my scraps. It's dimensional and do love my dimensions. Lastly, making this card was rather easy. I have been wanting to make this card for over a month now, but I just haven't found the time until recently. This will probably become the card of the year for me to give to my family and/or friends for 2012 birthdays. So, for any family or friends that may read this post--just look surprise when it arrives in your mailbox.

Happy Hellos Everyone!!!

Of course everyday is a special day, but today the RAVENS play their rivals, the Pittsburg Steelers and that puts that little extra in front of special. It's the best match-up in football which gives it a superbowl game feel mid-season. Anybody that knows me, knows I am an advid Baltimore RAVENS fan. I look forward to attending every home game. There's nothing like it---the atmosphere, the fans, the tailgates and when they're away, I'm drawn to some television or radio [if I'm in a car]. So, you get the picture.

Today's birthday card is inspired by the my favorite football team. I had such a great time creating this card and I thought today is a perfect day to share it with you. Although, this card can be given to a male or female recipient, it was created witha a male in mind. Take a look....

As you maybe aware, there are few, if any official licensed NFL papers available, so I had to improvise. I purchase the ravens paper from my LSS. Notice the word Baltimore is missing. Wouldn't want things to get messy. Right. I used my new number dies from Papertrey and cut out the numbers of some of my favorite players, but not before using the team colors to stamp and emboss the cardstock with a few of my Halloween stamps. The good thing is the numbers work well for a recipient's birthday too. I'm not sure whether you noticed, but one number is flushed to the card and the other number has been raised using dimensionals to show elevation. The sentiment is truly belongs to me and was computer generated and cut out using a die. I'm not feeling the ribbon and since I made this set, I discovered a more masculine ribbon. I just didn't have enough to complete a set.

Well, I hope you like what you have seen here at The Peddler's Gallery and perhaps it may have inspired you to create special sports theme [birthday] card for that special person in your life. I'm sure their birthday is worth Rav'in over too.

A Card for Him

Aside from 'Turkey Day' there are a few other special occasions during the month of November I create cards for. My niece will celebrate her [twelfth] birthday along with other family and friends during this month. Today, I decided to share a card I made with a masculine feel. As I have mentioned in previous post, creating card with a male recipient in mind is probably the most challenging for me, but I think I got this one right.

I have to admit, I was pretty excited when I got to us my Papertrey number dies for the first time. I simply love them. It appears as though they are the perfect size for all of my projects. I tried cutting out numbers using my Cricket, but for some reason, I just didn't like it. Perhaps it was the font. It couldn't have been the size or maybe it was just mind-over-matter. Who knows. I love my Cricket [for some things] and my Papertrey number dies [for other things]. Well, take a look and let me know what you think.

Today's card is all about giving thanks. Not the thanksgiving kind of thanks, that is there are not turkeys or leaves on this card. Instead it's the graditude thanks. My parents recently traveled to Atlanta, GA to visit family and friends. They had a wonderful time and wanted to send a thank you card to show their appreciation. Of the cards that were sent, below is one of the three.

While on my self-imposed hiatus, I took time to peruse a few of your sites especially some of my favorite sites. You know, the ones that really inspire to create and/or purchase an item you didn't think you needed until you saw it on your favorite site. Well, that's what happened about a week ago. I was visiting Edna down under at Stamp Paper Happiness. She is such an inspiration to me. I absolutely love, love, love her work. She created this wonderful card using a stamp image, Tulip Fairy from The Stamping Boutique. OMG! Immediately, I knew I wanted this image. The odd thing about it is, I'm not big on fairies. I was tempted to purchase the digital image because, I just didn't want to wait, but I held out. Instead, I decided to order the rubber stamp. I'm so glad I did. It was the good [cling] rubber. That very same evening it arrived, I decided to try it out. I think I was too excited because it just didn't come out like I wanted it to. The next evening, I tried my hand at it again and this time the colored image came out the way I had hope. Since then, I have reproduced this image again and I must say, I was very pleased. The second image looked much better than the first. To my misfortune, I forgot to take a picture and now it's gone. So, I'm sharing the first image with you instead. Take a look....

I sure have missed you. The month of October was full of challenges. I am so happy to welcome November in . As you know with the month of November comes all the wonderful colors that Autumn has to offer, the holidays, and lots of family and friends.

It's hard to believe it has been a month since I posted my last card. I think the creative part of me was running on overload during the months of August, September, and October. I made an effort to spring back in October, but for some reason, it just didn't happen. I think my mojo and my energy are returning. At least, I hope they are because this such an inspirational time of year. There is so much to create for the holidays. I hope all is well in your part of the globe. The other day I mentioned something about sharing something that may interest you in an up-coming post. Well, today's the day. My son is an avid rock collector. Orignally, I thought collecting rocks was somethings boys just did until something else came along to collect, but that hasn't been the case. Kevin really enjoys collecting rocks in their natural state.This has interested him every since he was five years old. Kevin proclaimed then he wanted to be a palentologist or a geologist. So, I began to place him in circles that would stimulate his interest including space camp and attending gem & rock shows.

Now, here's the part that may interest you. This past weekend we attended a local the gem & rock show in Howard County, Maryland. While there I came across several gem & rock vendor and dealers that not only sold gems and rocks, but they had several charms for sale at great prices. I had to pace myself since I hadn't planned on purchasing any thing. However, I managed to buy forty key charms and forty crowns, ribbons and more for $6 a tube. Take a look...

You may want to take note the next time you hear of a rock & gem show in your town.

I also wanted to show you the beautiful rock my son bought for me. I'm not sure whether you can see the faint purple hue surrounding the rock.

Today's card is all about the season. Autumn is here and I guest I'm just feeling it--cooler days, mosaic colors, family, friends, and holidays. It's just a terrific time of the year. Last year I created a few cards for the Autumn and the Thanksgiving holiday. I feel in love with one color combination I selected. I miked brown, orange and teal together. That color combination was wonderful. So, I decided to do a repeat--that is use the same color combination this year.

My Very First Stampin' Up Stamp Set

I hope all is well with you and yours.There's so much going on in the Baltimore area this weekend and I hope to participate in at least one activities. I won't say which one. However, if I'm able to get what I looking for, I'll be sure to share any and all information uppon my return because I think you'll be interested in knowing if you can take advantage of this activity in your areas.

Today's card is all about the challenge over at The Ribbon Reel. There's a new challenge every fortnight. Sidebar--I just love using this English term. ;) So, anyway, when a get a look at the inspirational photo I took a mental gasp. I was stumped for a moment. Participants are to create a birthday card. It wasn't the normal hues I used, though it caused me to set oustside my comfort zone. I liked that fact and I didn't all at the same time. Then I thought to myself, 'Okay, this is a true challenge.' By the time I finished my card, I absoulutely love the challenge. BIG thanks to the DT over at The Ribbon Reel. Take a look at the inspirational photo.

I really like everything about this card from start to finish and I hope you do too. I used the very first stamp set I purchased from Stampin' Up. Please forgive me, I do not remember the name of this set. All I know is I loved it when I purchased it, but I do not believe I have ever used it until now. I used several little goodies to achieve this effect. I think my favorite was the Glossy Accents and I think my favorite technique was paper piercing the birthday cake. I'm not sure whether this is visible to you, but I filled the well of the stamped shape chipboard with Glossy Accents. In person it looks absolutely goregous. Weathering the Weather

Sorry, no card to share with you today.

I'm not sure about you, but the past week has have felt much longer than it actually was. The earthquake kicked things off for me. It was somewhat exciting. Don't misunderstand me. It's not something that has to occur weekly or yearly for that matter. It was something to remember. Then a family member of mine past away and although, he was older, there are some people you expect to be around for much longer than their actual stay. Saturday was something else. My mother has been planning a cookout for my father for weeks. She was hoping the hurricane would come later on Saturday--perhaps into Sunday. I was in a wedding on Saturday that took place at 5 P.M. {just a few hours before Hurricane Irene was scheduled to hit the Maryland area} go figure. Right? By the time I returned home my hair was a frizzball [I know that's not a word], but it was; and the cookout took place Sunday instead of Saturday. Everyone appeared to have had a wonderful time. Unfortunately, I was not able to craft a thing--not to mention the basement took in water. None of my big things went for a swim, but there's always the clean-up that comes along with a hurricane.

I hope your Tuesday has kicked-off to a terrific start. For me, Monday had great momentum and I'm hoping Tuesday will follow in that same direction. It's hard to believe I have as much energy as I do with such an eventful weekend. My weekend kicked-off with creating a three tier wedding style cake for a 21st birthday celebration for 100 guest. Immediately after, it was off to M&T Bank Stadium to see the Baltimore Ravens play their first pre-season home game. Saturday, it was all about creating the wedding invitation for a bride & groom planning to wed in Virginia Beach in October; and of course I had to carve some time to create. Right???

I hope all is well with you. Can you believe it? Another August weekend is just around the corner. So many events seem to be taking place this month. There's no need to list the, but I can asure you there's lots to do before school starts.

Today's card is a card that fits two of this week's challenges. It meets the rquirements for both The Shabby Tea Room and the challenge over at Waltzing Mouse Stamps. It been a while is I have participated in a challenge over at the Shabby Tea Room. As soon as I saw this week's inspirational photo, I knew I wanted to participate in the challenge over there. Happy Hump Day Everyone!!!

Whether you're vacationing, resting or working, I hope all is well with you and yours. It's a beautiful day on the east coast--humidity free for now. After being away from my inks and papers and adhesives and emblishments, I feel as though I'm finding my way back. I know this because it was hard to pull myself from the craft table last night. I was on a roll, that is until HawthoRNe went off and fatigue began to set in.

Well, before my fatigue fell on me like a ton of bricks, I managed to create a card with The Ribbon Reel in mind. This super 'Citris Sunshine' challenge is scheduled to run until Sunday, August 21st. The month of August snuck up on me. I cannot believe we are already eight days into this month and I am just posting. The last week and a half has been busy and well, something had to give. I sure did miss blogging, but I will say, I did make to time to visit many of your blogs and they are absolutely WoNDeRFul!

Yesterday, was the first day I had an opportunity [when I just was plum exhuasted] to create a card or two... and that's what I did. I managed to create two cards for two separate challenges. The first challenge is for CRE8FUN. They're using one of my favorite combinations. I absolutely love, love, love the purple and lime green combination and this is the CRE8FUN color selection is for this challenge.

I’m back again. This time I want to share a card I made specifically for Triplicate Trials Tuesday---a fairly new challenge site. Two of my SOC sistahs are on the design team. So, as can imagine, I've been wanting to participate since it started, but for whatever reason, something preventing me from doing so. Triplicate Trials Tuesday really challenges you. Instead of concentrating on colors, sketches, or themes, you focus on all three. To learn more about how the challenges work, be sure to visit TTT site.

Much like the previous post, the inspiration (that is using the brayering technique) comes from once again Michelle Zindorf. I suppose I just had brayering on my mind. Happy Hellos!!!

I have had serious internet connection issues for the past couple of days. No sooner I log on, I'm kicked out and today hasn't been any different. I don't know about you, but it's something when you wake-up in heat and humidity and go to bed in those same conditions. That's what I'm casting the blame on for my internet connection problems. I was already up and out and back in the house before one o'clock. The goal was by noon before the real heat and humidity hits. Mind you--I'm not complaining because I know winter will be here soon enough. I'm just blogging to you.

Today, I am participating in for the first time in For Your Inspiration aka FYI Challenge. I learned about this challenge from Keva over at Hownowbrownkow. If you have an opportunity, be sure to visit her site. There's a plethora of inspiration over there.

Before I reveal my card, I have to give credit to where credit is due. As many of you may remember, I hosted Michelle Zindorf and more than forty attendees for Michelle to teach her unique brayering techniques. Well, yesterday, I began to recall some of the techniques learned and I must say I was happy how my embossed tree turned out. Thanks for the inspiration Michelle.

Hi Again!

I wasn't able to accomplish as much as I had hope to this weekend. However, I worked on a completing a couple of challenges yesterday and this was on to the three. And T.G.I.F. too... I'm going to get right to it, since there's so much I would like to accomplish when it comes to crafting this weekend. As you may already be aware, I was busy hosting Michelle Zindorf last weekend. She was so wonderful. I finally posted the cards I made during her class in the previous post. If you haven't had an opportunity be sure to scroll down to the end of the previous post to check out my three cards using Michelle's brayer techniques.

Now, on to current news. I signed up for an altered cigar box swap with some wonderful ladies over at Stampin Dymonz Scrap Shack. It was my first time trying this, but I was up for the challenge. We were to alter the box using a Shabby Chic theme. I know very little, if any thing at all about Shabby Chic, but I think I did okay for the first time. You can be the judge--especially you who are into Shabby Chic.

After altering this box, I decided I would like to do a few others, perhaps for Christmas, birthday gifts or maybe I'll do a nice project with my son's art class. Who knows. I don't know when I'll find time to do this, but I have several of these cigar boxes that I will have to make good use of.

Well, I managed to take a box that looked like this....

...and make it look like this...

Well, what do you think? While you're thinking, I tell you what I did to achieve this look. The one thing I didn't want to do was cover up the fact the box is not just a box, but instead a cigar box. I purchased a plum polyurethane from Lowes to achieve the purplish color without covering up the original branding. This stain also help to age the stamps I purchased from the post office and of course I rubber stamped a few postage stamps of my own. I used my favorite purple trimming (I absolutely love) I purchased while in the ATL. Tim Holtz products are definitely apart of this project. I used Tim's mini door knob and his foundation (footing for the cigar box) and of course there are a lot of good goodies inside.

Brayering with Michelle Zindorf

This weekend was wonderful and I can only hope yours was too. If you're wondering what happened at The Peddler's Gallery this weekend, I'll get right to it. It was a Michelle Zindorf weekend in Owings Mills, Maryland. That's right!!! The Peddler hosted the goo-roo of the brayer, Michelle Zindorf and approximately 40 students this weekend. For some attends, it was their first time being instructed by Michelle--boy were they in for a wonderful treat. From the onset they were ooohing and ahhhing over what was to be taught and what they had learned. It was just as fabulous for the intermediate group. There were just as many new things to learn in the intermediate class as there were for the beginners class. Once again, I have to say, 'If you ever have an opportunity to attend a Michelle Zindorf brayer class, seize the opportunity. She's a wonderful patience instructor.

It's a beautiful Sunday afternoon here in Baltimore and I hope wherever you are it's just as beautiful. I have to for warn you there are a couple of post that will follow my initial post today. Hopefully, you have an opportunity to stop by again to take a look at what I managed to create. I began to think, this week would probably appear to me as a blur when I thought of all the things I wanted and need to do prior to the fourth of July celebration. So, yesterday I worked on a few cards and a project, I wanted to share with you.

First up is a card I made to participate in this week's challenge over at CR84FN. I have to tell you... I wanted this stamp every since I first laid eyes on it months ago. However, my LSS did not carry it until recently. I must admit, I was a little disappointed when I received my stamp. It was a mini. So, I didn't use it, until now. Since I'm admitting things....I was happy with my little mini--very happy--like happy hellos, happy. I should have used it long ago. Well anyway, just below is the inspirational photo..

And that's why I am back! Yesterday, I challenged myself to complete a couple of challenges. By the time I finished cooking dinner, running errands, and recieving a recap of the day's highlights from my number one son, much of my time had been consumed. By the time I sat down, the premiere of Memphsis Blues was going off and HawthoRNe was airing. So, needless to say cards #2, #3, and #4 were not created. Of course, this evening didn't differed much from last night. Although I made enough dinner to have leftovers, I only created one card. On top of that, the masculine card theme went out of the window and cards #3 and #4 are still waiting to be created. The good news is, I was able to use tonight's card in two seperate challenges. This was such a fun card to make. You may noticed from the photo that some of the smaller dollies have a shimmer. If you enlarge the photo, you will see those dollies are covered in clear microbeads--a super medium to work with.

HappyWednesday Everyone!

I hope you are having a 'Terrific Tuesday.'This evening's goal was to come home and create at least cards #2 and #3 for this week and begin working on card #4 when the new season of HawthoRNe begins tonight.. I enjoy that show and Drop Dead Diva. Do you remember when nothing good aired during the summer months? Now, in addition to those two, I also look forward to watching Rosalie and Isles too. Do you have a favorite program you like to watch as you create? I know the television is usually playing in the background; however, seldom am I actually watching it.

So, anyway, I need to produce a few masculine cards. Of course Father's Day is just around the corner, but I am also in need of a few cards for some up coming birthdays for a couple of my male friends. The wheels in my head started to churn and the colors craft and blue came to mind. The color white or should I say the lack of color is a given. I came across a challenge or two where the colors I selected would work well.

Ahhhhh....The Weekend

Happy Hellos Everyone:
I hope your weekend wonderful! For Kevin & I, well be stayed busy. We were up an out pretty early on Sarturday. We setup at a local flea market, but we were rained out and that was okay by me. A part of me wanted to be back at home working on the two mini albums I started. I hardly wait to share them with you. I think they really look terrific. Currently, I do not have any photos in either album, but you'll get the picture--pun intended.

Before I could get home from the flea market, it was time to go again. This time, it was off to church for junior ushers' practice for Sunday's anniversary service and run a few more errands. According to the clock, it was only six o'clock, and I was exhausted. By the time I was able to return home, I didn't have too much energy to do any thing, but some how I was able to add a few pages to the mini albums.

Now, on to the card of the day....

There are so many wonderful challenges to select from, I didn't know where to begin. There was the one I missed by less than 30 minutes, then there were the faithful ones I love to participate in and lastly, there were a few new challenges I recently discovered that made me want to play along as well. I didn't want to give up one for another so, I decided to challenge myself to see just how many I would be able to complete this week.

First up...is the Monday Mojo Challenge. Every week I want to participate and for some reason it doesn't happen. So, I thought, 'Why not make it happen? Why not make this the first of the challenges I would like to participate in?' I didn't follow the sketch to the 'T.' By the time I sat down at the craft table I had lost a little of my mojo. It was now Monday evening and I had made a couple stops after work; came home a cooked dinner; began preparing for the next day's lunch and dinner. By the time that was done, so was a part of me. Anyway I really like my color selection. You can't go wrong with pink & green--ask any soror from the A.K.As. As for the image, well, this is one of my favorite stamps--Superbella. You gotta love her. Just below is this week's Mojo Monday's Sketch....
