Hail to the Chief

Happy Hellos Everyone:

I hope your weekend has kicked-off to a fantastic start. There is so much going on this weekend--the most exciting being the playoff game between the Baltimore RAVENS vs. Denver Broncos. In my mind I just knew I would be attending some local gathering, but I don't think that will happen this weekend. This is one of those rare occasions where my mind and body are in agreement [lol] and that is to just lay low.

In doing so, I wanted to share an invitation I made for and upcoming brunch in honor of the 57th Presidential Inauguration. I wanted to make an invitation that depicted the occasion. It had to be both special and memorable. Take a look....

I had a lot of fun pulling this invitation together. I thought this invitation fit
the occasion perfectly.

I discovered the most perfect glitter paper to work with at my LSS.  This glitter
paper doesn't shed or lift from the paper. It's smooth to the touch and
relatively thin compared to other brands.

As soon as I learned I would be making invitations for an inaugural brunch,
I immediately had a concept of what I wanted to make. The front of the
invitation would have the look of a black wrought iron gate.

I used my computer to create a seal. I only wished I had more time to work on it.

I used several fonts for the wording.

The iron gate effect was achieved by using my Silhouette.

I hope you were inspired to create that unique invitation. It's all about
adding that extra to your special occasion.

As always, thanks for stopping by The Peddler's Gallery and come back real soon.

Happy New Year

Happy Hellos Everyone:

I know. I am approximately two weeks too late; however, I just couldn't go on without wishing you and yours a happy new year. As for me, well, I am completely under the weather. I thought I had the flu, but in actuality, I feel as though the flu has me. I'm just hoping this thing doesn't turn into pneumonia. I've been there and done that and it wasn't a good feeling.

I have two invitations to share with you--both of which I created earlier last month for parties that would be celebrated this month. I was asked to make New Year's invitations for a New Year's Day celebration. This was for a returning customer. Whenever you have a returning customer, that's always a good sign that he/she really liked your work. Last year the invitation was all about pink animal print and this year's theme colors were gold and white. So, this is what I came up with....

I lucked up and found some gold colored glittered paper from my
LSS. It wasn't what I was looking for, but I made it work.

I pulled out a die set I purchased a while back from MFT to create the glass.
The set of dies contained four or five different glasses, so I used all of them--
creating a slightly different effect for each invitations.

I generated a computer printed tag, 'Bringing On the Happy With the Girls.

Added some fantastic gold ribbon I discovered at Michael's.

Finally, I accented the bubbly with a little bling.

I thought this invitation turned out pretty well.

I think this is the longest post I have posted. That is, I began this post yesterday and didn't complete it until today. As always, thanks for visiting The Peddler's Gallery and come back to visit real soon.
