Weathering the Weather

Happy Hellos Everyone:

Sorry, no card to share with you today.

I'm not sure about you, but the past week has have felt much longer than it actually was. The earthquake kicked things off for me. It was somewhat exciting. Don't misunderstand me. It's not something that has to occur weekly or yearly for that matter. It was something to remember. Then a family member of mine past away and although, he was older, there are some people you expect to be around for much longer than their actual stay. Saturday was something else. My mother has been planning a cookout for my father for weeks. She was hoping the hurricane would come later on Saturday--perhaps into Sunday. I was in a wedding on Saturday that took place at 5 P.M. {just a few hours before Hurricane Irene was scheduled to hit the Maryland area} go figure. Right? By the time I returned home my hair was a frizzball [I know that's not a word], but it was; and the cookout took place Sunday instead of Saturday. Everyone appeared to have had a wonderful time.  Unfortunately, I was not able to craft a thing--not to mention the basement took in water. None of my big things went for a swim, but there's always the clean-up that comes along with a hurricane.

Well, thanks for stopping by. I hope to have more to share with you tomorrow.

The Perfect Card

Happy Hellos Everyone:

By now I think everyone has heard about the 5.9 earthquake felt on the east coast. So, I won't go there. Instead, I'll talk about the perfect card. That is, the perfect card I made for this week's challenge over at ColourQ. I thought I made the perfect masculine card for anyone celebrating a birthday with a luau theme. I bet you're thinking a bit of a stretch, huh? Well, maybe not, but you have to admit a lot of people that have summer birthdays celebrate birthday using a laua theme.

Anyway...below is this week's color palette....

....and this is what I created.....

Hello Sunshine

Happy Hellos Everyone:
I hope your Tuesday has kicked-off to a terrific start. For me, Monday had  great momentum and I'm hoping Tuesday will follow in that same direction. It's hard to believe I have as much energy as I do with such an eventful weekend.  My weekend kicked-off with creating a three tier wedding style cake for a 21st birthday celebration for 100 guest. Immediately after, it was off to M&T Bank Stadium to see the Baltimore Ravens play their first pre-season home game. Saturday, it was all about creating the wedding invitation for a bride & groom planning to wed in Virginia Beach in October; and of course I had to carve some time to create. Right???

Well, I think I just made it in the nick of time for this challenge. We'll see. I wanted to share the card I created for the challenge over at Triplicate Trial Tuesdays. This would be my second time participating in the challenge over at TTT and I have to say, I am enjoying the challenges. You may want to stop by and check them out. Before I show the card in it's entirety, I wanted to show you the inspirational theme, sketch, and colors.

...and this is what I was inspired to create.....

I Have A Date

Happy Hellos Everyone:

That's right! You read the caption correctly. I have a date...well, that is a date with The Play Date Cafe. There has been soooooooooooooooooooooooo much going on in my little world over the last couple of weeks. For a few moments I couldn't see straight. Not to worry, I have since caught up with the rest of myself and I am now seeing a lot better.

It seems like forever since I last participated in a challenge. So, today, I decided to participate in the challenge over at PDCC. This week's challenge colors are pretty nice. Check out the inspirational photo below.

I told you, pretty nice, right?

What's Old is New Again

Happy Hellos Everyone!!!

I’m offering a prize for the picture below. All you need to do is leave a comment and/or increase your chances of winning by becoming a follower. Should you elect to do both, your name will be entered into the drawing twice to double your chances of winning my prize.

What's old is new again and just in time for back-to-school. I have created the perfect keepsake for a younger student. It's not just perfect, it's small enough to carry all of his/her crayons or any other small supplies.

I've even recycled my son's old colored pencils from last school year by creating the handle for the altered cigar box slide top. Well, if you like this Back-to-School Altered Ciagar Box, it can be yours. You know what you need to do. Leave a commemt and/or become a follower. Simple right! What keepsake have you created for you student this school year or in previous years?

As always, thanks for stopping by The Peddler's Gallery & come back real soon.

Sooth Away the Day

Happy Hellos Everyone:

I hope all is well with you. Can you believe it? Another August weekend is just around the corner. So many events seem to be taking place this month. There's no need to list the, but I can asure you there's lots to do before school starts.

Today's card is a card that fits two of this week's challenges. It meets the rquirements for both The Shabby Tea Room and the challenge over at Waltzing Mouse Stamps. It been a while is I have participated in a challenge over at the Shabby Tea Room. As soon as I saw this week's inspirational photo, I knew I wanted to participate in the challenge over there. As for the challenge over at Waltzing Mouse Stamps, well I missed the opportunity to play along last week. I was just happy to be able to do so this week. Just below is a wonderful inspirational photo from the Shabby Tea Room....

Isn't it great! Isn't it?

And, a little further below
is a sketch for Waltzing Mouse.

This is what I drew from it all.

I had a wonderful time creating this one. Initially, I imagined the card to be more blue in color than green, but that's the beauty of creating. That is, you never know what you have until it's finished. Well, I hope you like it and perhaps you'll draw as much inspiration from it as I had fun creating it. Thanks for stopping by The Peddler's Gallery and come back real soon.

Tea Time

Happy Hump Day Everyone!!!

Whether you're vacationing, resting or working, I hope all is well with you and yours. It's a beautiful day on the east coast--humidity free for now. After being away from my inks and papers and adhesives and emblishments, I feel as though I'm finding my way back. I know this because it was hard to pull myself from the craft table last night. I was on a roll, that is until HawthoRNe went off and fatigue began to set in.

Well, before my fatigue fell on me like a ton of bricks, I managed to create a card with The Ribbon Reel in mind. This super 'Citris Sunshine' challenge is scheduled to run until Sunday, August 21st. So, that means it's not too late for you to join in. Just below is the inspirational photo for this fortnight challenge.

TURQUOISE, YELLOW AND A TOUCH OF GREEN
PLUS ANY NEUTRAL

...and this is what I created...

It may be hard for you to see, but I managed to incorporate a sprig of verdenant in the teapot and teacup. This was a fun card to create and a wonderful photo to draw from. As always, thanks for stopping by The Peddler's Gallery and come back real soon.

Friendships Are SEW....

Happy Hellos Everyone!

I have another challenge I’m participating in this week. The second card I made yesterday was all about the challenge over at The Play Date Café. I really like how this card looked when I finished it. It’s pretty clean and simple. Just below is challenge colors/photo....

You cannot help but to love this color selection.
The combination is simply 'B'eautiful!

LOVE

Happy Hellos Everyone!!!!
The month of August snuck up on me. I cannot believe we are already eight days into this month and I am just posting. The last week and a half has been busy and well, something had to give. I sure did miss blogging, but I will say, I did make to time to visit many of your blogs and they are absolutely WoNDeRFul!

Yesterday, was the first day I had an opportunity [when I just was plum exhuasted] to create a card or two... and that's what I did. I managed to create two cards for two separate challenges. The first challenge is for CRE8FUN. They're using one of my favorite combinations. I absolutely love, love, love the purple and lime green combination and this is the CRE8FUN color selection is for this challenge.
