It's Always Nice When.,..

Happy Hellos Everyone!!!

You know, I was thinking, 'It's always nice when....when you can use a stamp you've used previously. When I say previously, I really mean over, and over, and over again. The stamp I'm referring to is the type of stamp you don't want to give away or stop using it at all because the fact is, you really like it. I don't know about you, but I have several stamps that fit this description--more so holiday stamps (i.e. Mother's Day, Father's Day, Valentine's Day, etc.) You definitely don't want a recipient to recieve a card stamped with the image you gave to him/her the year before. Right!

Well, yesterday I was playing with the idea of adding a coaster to my cards for Mother's Day, Father's Day and perhaps in summer birthdays. Everybody likes to discover little something in a card every now and then. So, I pulled out my little goodies and commenced to creating a coaster. I was pleased with the results. I called my son to get his opinion as I often do. Kevin really liked it. He suggested I should teach another art class at his school for Mother's Day and/or Father's Day. So, I think that's what I'll do--especially since Kevin made the suggestion.

So anyway--I pulled out my Hero Arts Stamp and my gel pen, a few Copic makers and my Glossy Accents, and this is what came to be....

How about that shine?

I layered the coaster twice with Glossy Accents.

I love the finish product.

Well... What do you think? In the meantime, while you're formulating your thoughts, I'll share mine and read your comments later. I was visualizing a nice cool glass of lemonade atop of this coaster and it looked oh-so-FAB-u-lous. By the way, I selected to use the sentiment above from My Favorite Things because I thought it worked with just about any occasion (i.e. birthday, Mother's Day, graduation, etc.)

I hope this inspired you in some way.Once again, thanks for stopping by The Peddler's Gallery and come back real soon.

Two For One

Happy Hellos Everyone:

I hope all is well where you are. I can't believe this week is flying by so fast. Wednesday has come and is almost over. The weekend is almost here. I'm hoping the weather will hold up because I have a few things I would like to accomplish this weekend. Okay, enough about me...

I wanted to share my lastest card with you. Today, I have decided to enter my card in two challenges, Off the Wall Craftiness and Moxie FAB Trigger Tuesday. Below are the inspiration photos.

...and this is what I created....

This was a fun card to create. I'm not sure when or why I purchased a bag of feathers, but this evening I was glad I had them. I think they provide my card with a little something. I love how with the use of the feathers, I was able to pull in the polka dots. The inspiration for the woven backdrop came from one of my favorite blog's I enjoy visiting--Edna. I added some natural fibers--burlap and the rossett ribbon, a little bling and a die cut with a stamped sentiment image from PTI.  I hope you like it and I hope it inspires you in some way; and thanks for the inspiration Edna.

Thanks for stopping by The Peddler's Gallery and be sure to return tomorrow. I have a neat little project to share with you.

Challenge Me - CR84FN

Happy Hellos Everyone!!!

I hope your weekend was 'Oh! So Fabulous!' I didn't do much this weekend beside the typical cleaning, but my weekend was great. Though the weekend is coming to a close, if you haven't had the opportunity, but wanted to play along with the SOC community in our first Blog Hop--it's not too late. You have until 11:59 PM to do so. Just scroll down to the previous posting to get all the information about the SOC First Blog Hop.

I was so elated when I learned what the inspirational colors were for this week's challenge over at CR84FN. Can you guess what the inspirational colors are? Well, don't worry, I give you a hint. One of the colors is my favorite color. That's right! You guessed it...PURPLE. OMG right! My favorite combination besides purple on purple (I'm just kidding.) is purple and lime green. It's an oh so fabulous combination.

Below is this week's inspirational photo over at CR84FN...

...And this is what I created....

To achieve this effect, use PTI cardstock and a green burlap; stamp Hero Arts Flowers and Swirls (love this stamp!!!) on craft die cut paper with Memento ink; color the flowers and leaves with a variety of Copic markers; one white paper stamp, color, and cut Hero Arts Flowers and Swirls  for a second time; apply selected flowers above first stamped image with dimensional to achieve volume; punch two holes into the bottom of the die cut; apply Tim Holtz's distress inks (purples & green) around the edge of the craft die cut paper; insert ribbons; and apply Smooch Spritz and bling.

Well that's it. I hope I have provided you with a little inspiration. Thanks for stopping by The Peddler's Gallery and come back real soon!

My project for the hop is fit for the season. It's a springy birthday greeting card. I must say, I love-love-love my Copic markers. However, I decided to use another technique for the hop. To create the flowers, stamp flower images onto a printed piece of paper (Note: the smaller the print the better for stamping purposes); cut and ink the core of the paper with dark ink; shape the flowers pedestals in an upward motion; place a dimensional in between each flower to create volume; finally, spritz your flowers with your favorite shimmer mist. (Hint: Lightly mist the flowers with rose water to give them a since of life.)

And I’m offering a prize for the items pictured below. All you need to do is leave a comment letting me know your favorite flower making technique and/or become a follower. Should you elect to do both, your name will be entered into the drawing twice to double you chances of winning some wonderful blog candy. I will announce the winner on Monday.

CR8FNColorChanllenge

Happy Hellos Everyone!!!

I wanted to share with you a card I made for this week's challenge over CR8FN Color Challenge. Although, I'm not a blue kinda girl, I really love the color combination. This week, I opted to try something different. I guess you can say I decided to scrap a card oppose to doing a lot a stamping. I hope you like it and are inspired to do something simular.

Below is the inspirational photo...

...and this is what I created....

To achieve this effect: cut several round circle in a varity of sizes and coordinating papers; ink the core of the papers with a dark ink; distress the papers using Tim Holtz distressing inks; crumble the round circles up one by one; open the circles, but not all the way; place dimensionals in between each circle and reshape; embellish the center of the flower as desired; cut and ink leaves; and stamp a sentiment on the outside of the card.

Thanks for stopping by The Peddler's Gallery and don't forget to come back tomorrow for the first Scraps of Color Blog Hop.

Did I Make My Goal

Happy Hellos Everyone!!!

I hope all is well with you. Yesterday, I took time to clean my crafting area from this past weekend. You know when you attend a crop, there's alot of preparation and packing that goes along with it. Then there's the reverse when you return home--dragging your supplies into the house and putting them away. The one that gets me are the supplies and materials I packed and never used or even pulled it out. Do you know what I mean. Well, I finally put all that stuff away.

My goal for this evening is to (1) Participate in a few okay a couple of challenges; (2) Capture my creation; and (3) Post my creations to share with all of you. Easy-peasy right. Well, as you continue to make your way down the post, you'll see....

I didn't quite make my self-impose goal. I didn't enter this card in a challenge. This is a card I made this past weekend at my birthday crop. I was inspired to create this card by my friend  Chris V. As you can see the hot air balloon is three dimensional. I attached the balloon to a clear sheet of acetate paper and applied two clouds using dimensionals and stamped a sentiment on the cloud paper. By the way the balloon basket is the lower part of a cupcake stamped image. This was a really fun card to make.

I did manage to create two cards. One I plan to present tomorrow and another on Friday. So, by far the evening wasn't at a lost. I think you'll really like them too.

Lastly, I want to remind you Scraps of Color first Blog Hop will take place on this Friday, March 18th. Keep in mind, there will be lots of blog candy up for grabs on several of the design team member's blog sites.

As always, big thanks for stopping by The Peddler's Gallery. You're always welcome and come back real soon.

Purple Reined This Weekend

Happy Hellos Everyone:

That's Right!!! Purple reined this weekend--even on the photo and boy am I exhausted--Friday, Saturday, and Sunday and on top off, I lost an hour of sleep. This was not the  weekend for time to have sprung up. I'm really feeling it too. I wanted to share the photos from my birthday crop, so without futher ado, here they are...

Shades of purple were everywhere. Everyone looked so beautiful adorned in their purple from head-to-toe. It was as if royalty had descended upon Photo Scraps Saturday afternoon. The evening culminated with reciting our favorite and/or well known lines from Alice Walker's book/movie, The Color Purple. Now, that was funny. I wonder whether you can accurately guess what lines were recited in some of the photos above. Thanks Ladies!!! You put the extra in my special birthday celebration.
