Pomp & Circumstance

Hi Everyone:

There are so many special occasions that are just around the corner that warrant a special greeting card. There's Mother's Day, Father's Day, graduation celebrations, weddings, and in between all of those special times, birthdays, anniversaries, and births are always popping up. I love graduation time, exspecially that Pomp & Circumstance. It's a feeling of accomplishment and bringing dreams to life. I have a couple of friends graduating (again) next month. After CASing a few sites, I thought I would make an attempt to tackle this card. Hopefully, I made the grade. :) I think this one came out okay, but I am definitely going to try it again. Lil' Kevin thought I should have included a diploma in conjunction with the cap. Speaking of the cap, I made the tassle myself. Not too bad for a first attempt. Instead  of  Perhaps, I'll consider adding a diploma on the next card. Let me know what you think.

Lastly, my niece finally it the double digits this past Saturday. Yes, Taylor's 10! This was the first time she recevied one of my cards. My brother told me she loved it!  I could hear it in her voice hundreds of miles away. I made of a fairy card simular to the one below--only it was a royal fairy. That's right, You guessed it. The fairy was adorned in purple. Of course I didn't capture it on film, but just know Taylor was please with the card was enough for me. Until next time...

Beautiful Butterflies

Hi Everyone:

I don't know whether or not you have noticed, but I haven't posted in a few days. Last Saturday, I must have caught the germ from out of no where. I did my typical running around for a Saturday. By Saturday evening I wasn't any good. I still haven't recovered 100% yet, but I am feeling a lot better.

I CASed a card simular to this early in the week on SCS. A SU demonstrator was highlighting SU's new cardstock with a card simular to this one. I loved her version! I love this one too. I just wish you could see the true colors my camera didn't capture. Here the background looks blue instead of a rich dark purple.

Until next time, thanks for visiting The Peddler's Gallery!

Suited4Success

TGIF Everyone!

You know I mentioned in a previous posting that creating a masculine style card is one of the most challenging things for me (and so many others that enjoy my craft). So when an idea comes across my mind or I case site that has card(s) suited for a male, I get excited. That's what happen couple of days ago when I came across this card. I haven't decided whether this will be a bithday or Father's Day card. For today, it's just a card. Thanks for stopping by The Peddler's Gallery.

Happy Tax Day!

Happy Tax Day!

I hope you are in a pleasant place both mentally and physically. I have wanted to complete this sketch for more than a week now and last night, I did. It's something about lots of colors and patterns--particularly bright colors and patterns. There are times I feel like the more the better when it comes to colors. I like how the card turned out too. Sometimes, less is more. Although, the card itself is simplistic, I  think the varied colors and patterns step it up a notch or two. Don't you think? Thanks for visiting The Peddler's Gallery.

Sending Wishes Your Way

Happy Hump Day All:

About a month ago a found a set of fairy stamps at a local craft store. I wanted them after seeing a fairy card. So, I purchased the set of stamps, but did nothing with them initially. I attempted to color one of the fairies about two weeks ago and bombed--by my standards. For some reason I felt intiminated. It wasn't until yesterday, that I was inspired to create this card after visiting AmyR . I couldn't wait to get home to attempt this undertaking. I thought I'd make this card first--using the green hues (like Amy) and if it turn out well, I would make something simular for my niece's 10th birthday using purple hues. Yes, of course purple hues...Everyone knows all real fairies are adorned in purple. Right! :) Since already here, let me know what you think and thanks for visitng The Peddler's Gallery.

More For MOM

Good Morning All:

Here's another Mother's Day card. I was inspired to make this card after visiting The Queen's Ink this past weekend. I know this may not look springy with the black and all, but you have to admit, it is eloquent. I used a lime green color paper to brighten the card. There is a card simular to this one in The Gallery. That particular card is beyond eloquent. It's purple & black. It's royalty. :)  If you have the time visit The Gallery. Thanks for stopping by!

This Past Week

Hello Everyone:

This past week was a busy week. Good buzy, but nevertheless busy. My lil' man was on spring break and I took a break from the office for a couple days to spend time with him. I'm soooooooooo glad I did. As close as I live to DC, I toured places I have never toured until now. Fortunately, what took me more than forty years to experience, Kevin, Alisa, and Keyon were able to experience the same things in a fraction of that time. They had a great time.

One of my good friends and her daughter took the train with Kevin and I to Washington, DC. We met up with another friend and her son to see the Cherry Blossoms and tour some of the historical sites. Unfortunately, we learned the cherry blossoms peaked last Saturday; however, the kids enjoyed what they were able to see. Boy! We selected the hottest day of the season to do an outside tour. In between touring the War Memorial, the Lincoln Memorial, the Jefferson Memorial, the Washington Monument and a couple other places we drank plently of liquids and ate ice cream. Did I say it was hot, too? Since there is so much to see in DC, we decided to return with the children at least once a month until August. We already have a few of the sites selected for our May visit. I know what you're thinking, because I'm thinking the same thing too. I feel an 8x8 scrapbook coming on. :)

In addition to my spring break highlights, I managed to make a few cards, that I was very happy about. Each time I went to make a card, I kept making Mother's Day cards. I used a couple of my new Flourishes stamps I recieved for my birthday. It turns out that getting started on my Mother's Day cards was a pretty good thing. I had so many request this past weekend for Mother's Day cards. It's nice when people think of me and selecting their cards in the same thought.

I also attended a COPIC airbrushing class this weekend in Eldersburg, MD. I learned alot too. Of course, I left the class thinking, 'I sure would like to have a COPIC airbrush compressor system.' I still have that thought at least once every couple hours. In the interium, I'll continue to use what I have  been using--the cans. Just below are a few of the cards I managed to squeeze out this weekend. I hope you like them. I do. Let me know what you think.

And Baby Makes Six

Good Morning All:

Happy 'Hump Day!' That's right, baby makes six. I started making a card for a baby shower I have been invited to this Saturday--after my COPIC airbrushing class. Before I knew it I had six cards made and it was 1:25 AM. I love this little card. If you ask me it's a perfect spring card--new beginnings and all.

I'm off to tour DC and check-out the cherry blossoms with my lil' man today as one of our spring break things to do. Thanks for stopping by the gallery.

A Little Birdie Told Me...

Happy Spring Hellos:

I love today's card! It's perfect for this time of year. It has spring written all over it. I created one and before I knew it, I had seven. Then I blinked and I had six and Jeana had one. Gotta go. I'm on a roll. Thanks for stopping by the gallery!

Happy Easter Everyone!

Hi Everyone :

I hope each one of you have had a most enjoyable Easter celebration. I did--lots of family and friends were around to celebrate the season.

I wanted to share the card I made for  my parents with you. The inspiration for this card came from my fellow stamping friend Vera. As soon as I saw it, I thought. I gotta do this so, I did. The first thing that came to mind when I looked at the finished product was Easter Sunrise. There was something about the colors I selected. They definitely looked like spring. Don't you think. I liked my finished product and I hope you do too. Thanks for stopping by The Peddler's Gallery.

Ladies: Don't Forget Your Annual Mammogram

Hello All:
I've created this style card  before as a reminder to have family and friends to get their annual mammogram.  Recently, I learned while attending a conference last week, a fellow board member's daughter (that I look forward to see at this conference each year) has cancer--not breast cancer, but cancer nevertheless, and it doesn't look good. So, for the past few days I have had it on my heart to make a card to send to Linda as well as cards to remind my sistahs to have their annual mammogram. Okay enough said. Be well, be healthy and thanks for stopping by The Peddler Gallery.
