The Real Christmas Colors

Happy Hellos --Again:

I know--two post in one day...right. Well, I actually made this card earlier in the month and I suppose I just put it up (right in front of me) and forgot about it. This card was originally made to be a Christmas card; however, as I continued to play with it, the card appeared to be the type of greeting I would send to someone celebrating a December birthday.  It seem so appropriate for the holidays.

At the time I was putting this together, I could not find any Christmas sentiment stamps that would fit the size of my clear Tim Holtz tags. Go figure. So, I grabbed the next best thing. I grabbed one of my sentiment from Verve Stamps--which I absolutely love.

The stripped ribbon came from AC Moores and the particially transparent ribbon was a scrap that was given to me from my LSS a few months ago. Of course I never turned down anything purple. I added a couple threads of burlap and I was done. As for the DP, let me just say, this BoBunny paper was my favorite. I purchased enough to last for quite some time.

With that said, don't be suprise if you see this DP around the holidays:)

Christmas in July

Happy Hellos Everyone!

I hope all is well with you. It's hard to believe the month of July is nearly over. I mean where has the time gone? I couldn't let this month get away without sharing my Christmas in July card with you. This past weekend I visited my LSS and discoverd Authentique has their christmas line out. There were a few papers I really really fell for. As you know, I am truely a purple kinda girl, but ever now and again I connect with the traditional colors too. Yesterday, was a math tutoring for my son, so it was rather late into the evening when I started. I didn't have a chance to play around with alot of techique; however, I hope to duplicate this card later this evening using a couple of other techiques and products.

Well, for now, take a look below...
As mentioned earlier, I used Authentique Papers: Festive, Tim Holtz die,
Waltzing Mouse sentiment stamp, and Maya Road star stick pin

Heaven knows where I picked-up the calendar,
but I cut of the dates and used the name.

I love the cardinal. It looks as though I stamped the image.

I embossed the paper too.

Well, thanks for visiting me at The Peddler's Gallery and come back real soon.

Best Wishes

Happy Hellos Everyone:

I hope all is well with you. It still continues to be a busy season for me. I still haven't gotten my mojo back completely; however, I was actually able to get a few cards made yesterday. I plan to test the waters again tonight to see whether or not I can get a few more made. Who knows?

Besides this card's color falling in the category of a shade of purple, I really like this card. So, much so, I may use this style for some of my Christmas cards.

Take a look...

For some reason, I couldn't capture the colors with my camera the way it actually looks like in person. I will admit, the shade is more of a mooted lavender accompanied with brown which gives the card a shabby/vintage kinda feel.

Well, thanks for stopping by The Peddler's Gallery and come back real soon.

SOC Altered Box Swap

Happy Hellos Everyone:

I know it's be a while since my last post. All I have to say is this has been a busy season for me. I've been crafting since my last post. However, I haven't made that many greeting cards of late. My mojo has come and gone. I've had a few wedding projects I've been working on. Thanks goodness that over. Now, I can focus on my projects. Believe it or not, I have been doing more scrapping than any thing else. I just haven't taken many pictures of my projects.

A couple of weeks ago I signed-up for a altered box swap over at Scraps of Color. I began and completed this project during the storm that knocked out the power for many of us here on the east coast. There was little else to do that didn't require electricity. I was tasked to make box with a Victorian or Shabby Chic flair. I don't think I am good at either. Take a look at what I created.

I made two of the four flowers above. I haven't sent this box off yet because I have been contemplating on whether or not to add some ribbon to it. I know I'll have to decide quick because I plan to put this in the afternoon mail tomorrow.

Well, thanks for stopping by The Peddler's Gallery and come back real soon.
