The Ultimate Entertainer

Happy Hellos Everyone:

I hope your weekend has kicked-off to a fantastic start. I'm going to get right into things. I have to admit, I am an entertainer--some might say an ultimate entertainer. I love a reason to come together with family and friends. I love to pullout my favorite dishes, decorations, and of course my recipes. Every now and again, I am able to incorporate some of my keepsake boxes into some of my special occasions. I find that happens often at Christmastime and throughout the year, a box or two will enhance a table centerpiece or the focal room.

Needless to say, I absolutely love this box. One again I reached for my papers
from Authenique. I can never fail by using their wonderful lines. I created this
box with three observances in mind....Memorial Day, Independence Day, and Labor Day.

I am certain, this line has retired. So, unfortunately, I am unable to share with
you the name. To begin, I dyed this natural wooded cigar box blue.

I distressed the papers and opted to used different coordinating print on each
panel, including this translucent flocked paper [which was not apart of the Authenique collection]..

I adorned the box with metal feet.

To add a little more frill to the occasion, I finished the box off with
this beautiful trimming.

I went a step further and added for jean pockets to the keepsake box.

This was a technique I learned while traveling with the military. In each pocket
you discover a set of matching plastic utensils and coordinating bandanna.
This keepsake box is large enough to hold a set of 12.

Tell me, are you an entertainer too?

Well, thanks for stopping by The Peddler's Gallery and be sure to come back real soon.

Audrey

Happy Hellos Everyone:

I hope all is well with you. Today, I wanted to share with you another one of my keepsake boxes. I loved this line from the start. The first thing that came to mind was legendary Audrey Hepburn and the wonderful movies she starred in. Take a look and be sure to tell me what you think.

This black and white with a splash of blue from
Authentique works well with silver lined cigar box.

The retired line, Classique: Elegant continues inside the keepsake box
and finished off with glitter creating a slight sparking effect.

Outside of the box is adorned with medal legs to enhance an elegant feel.

There's the look-a-like Audrey I cut on an angle.

I created a unique a unique landscape on the inside
of the keepsake box that will allow the owner to
effortlessly adhere special photos to the background
and created a faux diamond studded arm.

This crown is not just befitting for a princess.
It is also used as the handle on this keepsake box.

Once again, thanks for stopping by The Peddler's Gallery and don't forget to comeback real soon.

In Honor of the Ringling Bros. Barnum & Bailey Circus

Happy Hellos Everyone!!!

It has been a long time since the last time I have been on my blog and just as long as it has been since I have had an opportunity to talk with many of you. Well, as the famous line goes....I'M BACK and ready to share with you some of the things I have been working on. Just today, I learned Ringling Bros. Barnum & Bailey Circus are closing their doors after 146 years of entertaining so many generations. I remember my mom taking my siblings and I every year. In turn, I made it a tradition to take my son to the same circus. I have been told, all good things come to an end. Ironically, I finished a keepsake box with a circus theme recently. Let me know what you think.

It probably will not take long before you figure out I used Graphic45.
I absolutely love 95% of the papers they produce.

I love the old feel of yesterday's circus.

Did you notice the how the original banding of the
cigar box blends right into Graphic45 color theme?

This is one of my unique cigar box. Unique in the
sense it is not very often I come across this style of box.

This cigar box is also unique in the sense it only
has three sides. So, I created a faux window using plastic.

Embellishments are nice,
but I did not want them to over power the box.

This is a snapshot of the lid to the keepsake box.

Lastly, here is a full view of the circus theme
keepsake box with handmade paper footing.

Thanks for Stopping By The Peddler's Gallery!!!
