I can not believe two Waltzing Mouse Challenges slipped by without me being able to participate. The last two challenges were really neat too, but that's okay. I was pleasantly satisfied when I clicked on WMS challenges late Saturday afternoon to see this week's sketch. I exhaled and starting thinking about the theme; the occasion; what I could create that would; and if it would stand out. Five days came and went. I had lots and lots of ideas; however, nothing materialized until today. I thought this card was apropos for this week's challenge, since the weather in Baltimore is feeling more and more like autumn. Below is the sketch challenge participants were provided for inspiration.
And this is what I came up with:
Now, about the card....
The designer paper is from Basic Grey. I scalloped punched both the edge of the card and the craft background that supports the pomegranates. I colored the image with COPIC markers--offsetting the leaves with two different shades of green. I was trying to achieve the effect that the leaves were beginning to dry out. I complete the leaves by applying a layer of Tim Holtz Distressing Stickle--Rock Candy over the leaves. I'm not sure whether the camera captured what I see in person. I applied ribbon treatments (from Prairie Bird Boutique) and a SU brad to the branch of the pomegranates; and embossed a sentiment onto an oval punch of craft paper. Well, what do you think?
I hope you like what you've seen and
perhaps you were able to draw some inspiration.
As always, 'Thanks' for stopping by The Peddler's Gallery
and come back soon.
