Happy Hellos Everyone!!!

I hope all is well with you in your corner of the world. It's hot here on the east coast and I must say, whenever I am outside for more than a minute, I begin to feel like a roasted nut--of  course roasted for because of the heat and nutty for allowing myself self to venture out into these conditions. I hope all of you are doing your best to stay cool.

In the mist of remaining cool, I have managed to carve some time solely for creating. Oh, I love when I am able to do that. I can honestly say, I believe this post can be enjoyed by everyone that drop by to visit. Today's post is all about introductions. It is my Dylusions Meet PTI, PTI Meet Dylusions post and let me just say, I had a wonderful time creating these wonderful cards. Take a look...

Okay, let me pre-warn you, I couldn't decide what photos to

select to show you. Needless to say, I had a hard time

 narrowing the number of photos.

 

As mentioned this is my Dylusions Meet PTI, PTI Meet Dylusions post. I had

 such an amazing time creating this awesome background. If you recall I

used the same technique for my Surf's Up post.  

 

Each zodiac sign background from slightly to dramatically.

This makes each card unique in its own way.

 

 

As you see, stars are seen throughout the background.

I wanted to ensure the zodiac sign would not be hard

 to find, so I added a little bling to each sign.

 

I love the Leo background.

 

 

Adding the silver background on top of the black background, makes the stars  pop.

 

I think this background was my favorite. How about you?

Do you like that marble effect?

I hope your weekend has been a wonderful one thus far. Over the past couple of weeks, I have been dedicated to building up my birthday card stash. I must admit, I've done quite well. I think I surprise myself by just how much I have managed to accomplish. That is, in between working on updated and revision to Blew Monday, real work, and every thing else that seems to come along; I have been pretty busy.

Having said that, take a look at today's card....

One of my favorite images to stamp are flourishes. It appears as though

 every time I stamp a flourish I get a new image. I'm not certain whether that's

 true or not. It could be the color I stamp the flourish or t

he location in which it's stamped.

 

The flourish is from Stampendous. I'm not sure if you're able to see,

 but the flourish has been stamped using two colors--red and orange.

If I'm not mistaken, the sentiment stamp is a from a Heros Arts set, I

purchased a while back.

 

I added a favorite DP from S.E.I. and to bring it all together, I added ribbon.

and accented it with three roses.

Just for You

Happy Hello Everyone:

I hope all is well in your little corner of the world. It's summertime here on the east coast; however, there is reminence of spring that continues to linger---rain, lots of rain. I won't complain, since there is no need to. When I look at all the other things that are taking placejust on the other side of the Mississippi, it would be very selfish of me to do so.

Beside, I have some wonderful news to share with you, but unfortunately, I have to hold off just a little while longer. I know. I know. I know. I will let this much out of the bag--Blue Monday. Sometimes, I can be such a tease. ;)   I hope to be able to share a little more with you over the next couple of weeks.

In the meantime, I do have a card to share with you today. Take a look...

I'm not certian where I purchase the black and white paper from, but I love it.

 It's has the feel of cloth. The bottom paper is DP from My Mind's Eye. Love

 this too. To me, the card just has a classy look.

The sheer ribbon treatment adds that little extra to this beautiful card.

Lastly, I added a little bling across the card, a couple of stickpins to accent

 the ribbon; and created an emblishment with a sentiment stamp form SU.

Bring on the Happy

Happy July Everyone:

The month of July was once upon us and now it's here. A part of me feels as though it could be the month of April. April showers does bring May flowers. Although, residents on the East Coast may agree July showers will bring August flowers--perhaps? Regardless, I suppose within the next couple of weeks, I'll begin the task of school shopping. Just the thought of that makes me think that topic is for another time and another post.

Today's card is all about 'Bring On the Happy." I needed to concentrate not only on just birthday cards, but I needed birthday cards for my male recipients.  I loved how todays card turned out and I hope you will too. It has simplicity written all over it. Take a look...

This was such a fun card to create. I think I may have to create a few more.

 As you can see, I used a few scraps and a bit of the daily newspaper.

I cut the card base and an additional panel slightly shorter than the base.

I rounded off the edges and use one of my favorite go-to stamp sets from

 PTI to stamp the sentiment. I love using 'bring on the happy.' Sometimes

 saying, 'Happy Birthday' just seems so over used at times.

 Since this card is intended for a male recipient, I didn't want to over embellish

 it with ribbon/bow or bling. Instead, I tied off a small piece of ribbon and a metal brad.

It's Friday!!!

Happy Hellos Everyone:

It's  Friday which means it 'Time to Shake a Tail Feather.' I am so looking forward to this weekend. I do not have a lot planned and that's terrific news. I'm hoping that I will be able to get some crafting in. In other words, that's just good therapy. Hopefully, you'll find some time to get a little therapy too.

Today's birthday card is all about having fun. Take a look...

I had fun making this card and although my colour palette was

 clearly pink and black, I felt the need to add a purple feather

 in the cluster of feathers.

 

I thought the pink houndstooth DP provided a softer look

 opposed  to the black houndstooth DP.

The sentiment was computer generated using Adobe Photoshop.

The label was cut using a Spellbinder die.

Thank You w/A Splash of Colour

I hope all is well with you and your. I also hope you're doing what needs to be done to remain cool wherever you may be.

I thought, I posted this card prior to posting it on Scraps of Color yesterday, but apparently, I had not. Today's card was a fun quick card to create. Take a look...

This is another card I feel is a bit more artsy than it is crafty. Typically, I work

with papers that way 80-140 pounds in weight. For this card, I used 140lbs. paper.

 

I used a stamp set from WMS--Fancy Flourishes & Scallops

& Dots. I absolutely loves this set. Afterwards, I applied

 various colors of Smooch Spritz to the paper panel; allowed

 it to dry before adhering the WMS thank you sentiment.

Get Well

Happy Hellos Everyone!!!

I hope all is well with you. Summer has officially begun here on the East Coast. The sun is hot and the air is humid here in Baltimore. The best thing about the weather lately is that it is consistent. Over the past few months we have experience so many different changes in the weather. Okay, enough small talk about the weather.

Lets talk about today's card. I think the cards I tend to make the least of are 'Get Well' and 'Sympathy' cards; and fortunately I haven't needed either recently. Of these cards, I probably make even fewer for males. Recently, I was asked to make a get well card for a male recipient and this is what I came up with. Take a look...

Oxford line is one of my favorite DP from Basic Grey

when making a card or project for a male recipient.

 

 I used a sentiment stamp that I love from PTI. I love it! I didn't want to over

embellish, so I added some ribbon and a metal clock. If you're wondering,

the clock ties into the inside sentiment.

I used the thin sheet of natural wood I usually discover in several

if my cigar boxes. I ran it through my CuttleBug, stamped the

sentiment; and put a few dimensionals underneath for volume.

 

That was it and I was done.

Surf's Up

Happy Hellos Everyone:

It appears as though my posting have become far and few in between, but not to worry. I have been creating cards like crazy. A good crazy-mine you. This means I have lots of cards to share with you. This weekend, I had an opportunity to attend a wonderful exciting messy hands-on class. For approximately six hours we played with several different mediums. I never once worried my clothes or my hands; however, after all was said and done, I noticed nothing was speared, not even my white purse. It was tucked away, but not far enough away from the paints and stains. Although it was a fairly new purse, I wasn't upset. Not only was the class enjoyable, I learned a lot and I suppose that out weighted the damage to my white purse.

Recently, I was asked to create ten basic birthday cards for both male and female recipients. I had just finished the greeting cards for the females. Of course I completed that request first. It was easy. I always have to put a little more thought in to it when it comes to making cards for men. You know you do not want to embellish too much and you also need the right embellishments. Well, I am so glad I waited. I began working on the male greeting cards after the class. Immediately, after the six hour (okay the all-day class), I went home to my craft table to try to recreate what I thought I had just learned. Well, it didn't happen. I thought, perhaps I hadn't learned what I though I had, but thank God, that wasn't the case. I was just exhausted. The next day I attended the new technique and had no problems. Take a look...

I'm not certain if you are able to see what I see,

but there is just enough luster for a light sheen.

 

 

 I used a combination of greens, blues, yellows and brown.

 

I think what I really like the best about this technique is the ability to

 manipulate the textures. I love the idea of not feeling the need to use

 any embellishments on this card. I merely just distressed the edges to

 continue the texture theme.

 

I selected a silhouette image from SU and the sentiment is from PTI.

 With the faux matting, the recipient could actually frame this little

 beauty so that it can be displayed at all times.

 

I decided to use another silhouette stamp from SU and I love the way this card

 turned out as well. I wanted the rocker to pop out, so I raised the rocker;

 applied some Stickles; and topped him off with some Glossy Accents.

 

 

 

The  Glossy Accents dried clear; however, the photo was

 taken before the medium was able to dry.

I entered this card in the Brown Sugar Challenge #47.

My Hero

Happy Hellos Everyone:

According to my dad, his Father's Day was wonder. I hope your time spent with your dad was wonderful and if your dad is longer here, I hope you have wonderful fond memories to reflect upon. It seem as though we did a lot in such a brief period of time today including going to see Superman: The Man of Steel. He love that too.

One might say this is a very simplistic card and I would have to agree. There's

just something about a simple card that makes it stand out. This was just one

 of those types of cards. 

 

 

This is one of Tim's embellishment; however, I tried to make it my own by

pulling out my can of gold spray paint to bring a different look to it. The

 sentiment is computer generated and the I just love the ribbon. It reminds

me of the purple heart that awarded to a military member.

I snipped the ends of the ribbon and that was it.

Click Your Heels

Happy Hellos Everyone:

So happy you decided to stop by. I hope all is well with you and yours. Since my last post so much has happen. The most significant being my son completed his first year of high school. Yippy!!! One year down, three more to go. Time is flying so fast. It's hard to believe his is a rising sophomore. All I can say is 'what a year.' There were so many first; lots of highs and a low here or there. Now that's over with, I feel as though I could click my heel. Which leads me right into day's card. Take a look...

I figured, if I were in Oz and all I had to do was to click my heels to return home,

 I figured my shoes wouldn't be ruby red. They would be purple, of course.

 

I also assumed, if the image came out in purple well, then it would look

 good colored in other hues too.

 

This image from, Stampendous is colored with Copic

markers and highlighted with Stickle.

 

The gray areas are highlighted in Glossy Accents

 and embellished with a cute little clock.

Stamping with MFT

Happy Hellos Everyone:

I have a short post for your today!!!

I had such a wonderful weekend and I hope you can say the same. I think I lived and breathed all things paper this weekend. My holiday weekend began late Friday evening and continued up until the very last possible minute. That is, I had to begin to prepare for Tuesday. I'm not sure exactly how many cards and boxes I managed t create, but I managed to get through several projects including today's card. I think I am on this sentiment thing right now. I'm always looking for sentimental stamps. This weekend, I finally put them to use.

I love the way this card turned out. As you can see, I pulled out some of my

 favorite sentimental stamps MFT and dies from MFT and PTI.

 

I think the color selection is a winner too. I'm lov'in this combination as

 much as the ribbon treatment.

 

 

I made a set of these note cards that I hope to share with you over the next

week or two. I love the sentiments included in the sets. They can be applies

 to an array of circumstances.
